Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that works on your feet, face, or ears. It's based on the principle that these areas contain reflex zones that connect to different parts of your body via your nervous system.

When I apply pressure to specific points, it can help your body find balance and encourage your natural healing processes. It's deeply relaxing, and many people find it helps with stress, sleep problems, hormonal issues, digestive concerns, and general wellbeing.

You don't need to be unwell to benefit from reflexology. It can be a powerful form of preventative care. And it's suitable for everyone, from babies to seniors.

Treatments I Offer

Foot Reflexology

This is what most people think of when they hear "reflexology". You'll relax in a comfortable chair or couch whilst I work on your feet using specific pressure techniques.

It can help calm your nervous system, improve circulation, and support your body's natural detoxification. Many clients find it brings relief from stress, pain, sleep problems, and hormonal imbalances.

60 minutes - £45

Facial Reflexology (Bergman Method)

Facial reflexology offers the same therapeutic benefits as foot reflexology, with the added bonus of potential rejuvenating effects on your skin.

Because your face is so close to your brain, working on facial reflex points can be particularly effective. It may help reduce stress, clear sinuses, improve nerve function and circulation, and encourage toxin removal. Regular treatments can give you a healthy glow, improve skin tone, and may reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

45 minutes - £45

Auricular (Ear) Reflexology

Your ears contain reflex points that map to your entire body. Auricular reflexology can be particularly helpful for pain relief, stress reduction, and supporting emotional balance.

Many clients find it especially beneficial for anxiety, insomnia, and addictive behaviours. It works beautifully on its own or alongside foot or facial reflexology for a more complete treatment.

Included in combination treatments

Zone Face Lift - Natural Anti-Ageing

This is more than a facial. It's a restorative treatment that combines the therapeutic benefits of reflexology with advanced techniques that may help lift, tone, and rejuvenate your skin. It can be viewed as a natural, non-invasive alternative to Botox. Beauty editor Sarah Vine called it "a contender for London's best facial treatment."

How it works

Zone Face Lift brings together facial reflexology (Bergman method), pressure point massage, lymphatic drainage, advanced facelift massage techniques, and specialist tools including Chinese Gua Sha, accu-pressure roller, and quartz crystals.

These techniques work together to stimulate your facial tissues, which can help boost collagen and elastin production and improve circulation.

The benefits

Physical: Your skin gets oxygenated, facial muscles may be toned, puffiness can be reduced, and many clients notice healthier, tighter skin with wrinkles appearing smoother and less noticeable.

Therapeutic: Deep relaxation, tension release, potential relief from sinus issues, and may help with teeth grinding, TMJ dysfunction, and migraines.

Emotional: Many people describe Zone Face Lift as working on a spiritual level. It may help release stored tension and negative emotions that can show on our faces. As these release, people often notice their face looks softer, more open, more like themselves.

12-week programme

For best results, I recommend a course of 12 treatments (which includes 3 full facials). With block booking, you get your 12th treatment free.

What to Expect

Your first appointment

I'll take a full medical history to understand your health and what you're hoping to achieve. We'll talk about your lifestyle, stress levels, sleep, and anything else that might be relevant. This helps me tailor your treatment safely and appropriately.

During treatment

You stay fully clothed throughout (just remove socks for foot reflexology). You'll relax in a comfortable reclining chair or couch whilst I work on the relevant reflex points using specific techniques.

If I find areas of sensitivity or imbalance, I'll work on these to help restore balance. It's deeply relaxing - many people doze off.

After treatment

I'll discuss what I found and give you aftercare advice. You'll receive an aftercare leaflet with tips on how to support your body after treatment.

Everyone reacts differently. Most people feel deeply relaxed and calm. Some feel energised.

Occasionally, you might experience what we call a "healing crisis" - temporary symptoms like tiredness or headache as your body processes the treatment. This usually passes within 24-48 hours.

Booking

Appointments must be booked in advance. Mobile treatments are available on request. I need at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations (48 hours for Hornchurch clinic). Late cancellations or missed appointments will incur a 50% fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will I feel after treatment?

Most people feel deeply relaxed and calm. Some feel energised. Many clients report improved sleep, and some notice pain relief or reduced stress.

Occasionally, you might experience what reflexologists call a "healing crisis" - your body's way of processing the treatment and rebalancing itself. Symptoms might include tiredness, a slight headache, increased thirst, or more frequent urination. These usually pass within 24-48 hours.

Drink plenty of water afterwards, avoid heavy meals and strenuous exercise for the rest of the day, and avoid alcohol and caffeine.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on you, your body, and what you're hoping to achieve.

For general wellbeing and stress relief, you may feel the benefits just after one session. For ongoing issues or chronic conditions, you'll usually need four to six weekly treatments to feel the full effects.

After that, many people choose monthly treatments as preventative care. I'll always be honest with you about what I think you need. There's no pressure to book a course.

Can anyone have reflexology?

Yes, most people can. There are no age limits. I've treated everyone from tiny babies to people in their 90s.

There are a few contraindications, which is why I take a full medical history to ensure I can treat you.

For some unstable conditions, I might ask for your doctor's permission before treating you. This is for your safety.

What if I need to cancel?

I need at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If your appointment is at the Hornchurch clinic, I need 48 hours' notice.

When appointments are missed or cancelled at short notice, it can be unfair to the other clients who may be on the waiting list. If you give me proper notice, there's no charge and we can rebook.

Late cancellations or missed appointments will be subject to a 50% charge.

How does reflexology work?

Honestly? There are many theories about how reflexology works, and no single explanation has been proved as definitive. However, what is well recognised is its effectiveness.

The theory is that reflex points on your feet, face, and ears correspond to different organs and parts of your body. When I apply pressure to these points, signals may be sent via your nervous system to the corresponding areas.

Traditional Chinese Medicine talks about energy flowing through pathways in the body. When this flow gets blocked, it can show up as an imbalance or illness. Reflexology may help unblock these pathways and restore flow.

What I know from experience is that many clients report feeling better after treatment. Symptoms may improve. Stress can be reduced. Sleep often improves. Pain can ease.

Ready to Book?

Start with a 15-minute taster session if you're curious but not quite sure. Or get in touch to book a full treatment or discuss which option might be best for you.

Important: Reflexology is a complementary therapy. It works alongside medical treatment, not as a replacement for it. Always continue with any medication or treatment your doctor has prescribed.
